The Coalition is calling on its community and allies for financial support for its historic Asterisk project.

Current milestone: Help us boost our fundraiser to our current goal of 40,000$ by October to cover 10,000$ per month from July to October !

The Coalition is a place for consultation and solidarity around the issues experienced by the diversity of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Quebec.

The Asterisk Project, is a safe(r), braver, non-commercial and bilingual space in the Village of Montreal, created in 2014 for LGBTQ+ youth, offering numerous free services (gender-affirming gear, clothing exchange, library, collective kitchen, active listening, resources, etc.) through its Roommate organizations (Jeunesse Lambda, AlterHéros, Juritrans and La Mandragore). Every year, thousands of young people find their place thanks to our premises and our support.

It is very difficult for us to find funding that would qualify for the administrative expenses of our space. The survival and accessibility of this space is very important for the well-being of the Colocs dans l'Astérisk organizations and the Coalition.

With your support, we hope to achieve by Summer 2026:

Basic coordination for the Asterisk: $10,000 per month for salaries, rent, space maintenance, and one activity per month. $120,000 for a year.

Detail by month:

$5,000 (60h/week) coordination team

$3,000 rent

~ $1,200 space maintenance, equipment shared with roommates, and resources distributed in the space

~$600 for entertainment and activity materials

Full return of activities:~$16,500 per month for return of $200,000 for a year

Details by month:

$5,000 (60 hours/week) coordination team

$3,000 rent

$2,500 space maintenance, equipment shared with roommates, and resources distributed in the space

$1,500 youth leadership scholarships

$2,000 activities (workshops) facilitation and materials

$2,500 coordination of major activities (Spa Day, beauty and wellness, and other collaborations)

Any target reached beyond this threshold will help us support the sustainability of the Asterisk and the Expansion project.
